The trail is a two and a half mile (4 km) walk that takes you through the rich history of America’s Revolution. As you walk along the redbrick trail, you will pass 16 nationally significant historic sites. The Freedom Trail is a unique collection of museums, churches, meeting houses, burial grounds, parks, a ship and historic markers that tell the story of the American Revolutions. There are other walking trails to discover in Boston but none as popular as the Freedom Trail. You can choose to follow the trail on your own or you can join a guided tour.
