Motel: Motels are highly popular and economical options and are located off the interstate.
Day Hotels: Also known as the alberghi diurni, the day hotels are located off the railway stations and come with shower facilities, hair dressers, restrooms, telephones etc, but without provisions of sleeping.
There are also the non traditional options for travelers going on a trip to Italy, and they can easily rent a villa or bed and breakfast inn.
